Shorten your life with exercise????

December 21st, 2012

For the full article by Dr. Mercola on the video please click on the link here.

Summary of the article:

Extreme endurance cardio, such as marathon running, actually damages your heart, and can negate the health benefits you’d otherwise reap from a regular fitness program. Research has shown that once you reach 40-50 minutes of vigorous exercise per day, the benefits from your efforts plateau, and further efforts do not convey further improvements in life expectancy.

Candy Apple Dip Recipe (“Healthier-than-Caramel”)

October 25th, 2012

This is from http://grocerygeek.com. A great resource for additive free nutritional choices:)

This recipe is dairy-free and, unlike making caramel dip, you won’ t even have to cook (i.e., risk burning) anything!

The texture shown here can only be achieved in a powerful blender like a VitaMix or Blendtec. If you own one of these machines, you are going to have a love/hate relationship with this recipe – you’ll love how it tastes, but hate that you can’t stop eating it! Seriously, I don’t advise trying the recipe until you have plenty of other folks around to share it with . . . .or you may give yourself a stomach ache:)

Choked off Nerves = Dead Nerves = Dead Organs = Dead Us.

Dr. Alf Breig has been called the Leonardo da Vinci of mechanical function of the nervous system. As part of his work he founded the concept of adverse mechanical tension, something which has had an enormous and profound influence on your body.

He discovered that abnormal posture, especially of the spine, will cause a tethering stretch on the spinal cord.

The question of how much that effects the body was answered in a research study back in 1992.

How do Chiro Kids stack up to Pediatricians Kids?

September 10th, 2012

This is a real “rubber hit’s the road” article. . . .

Two hundred pediatricians and two hundred chiropractors were randomly selected and surveyed to determine any differences in the health status of their respective children as raised under the different health care models. Analysis of the results indicates a definite correlation between chiropractic care and superior health.

Even though the “medical” children had a history of fewer childhood diseases, received a higher percentage of childhood immunizations (94%), compared to the “chiropractic” children (25%), the immune response of the chiropractic children was significantly better. The “chiropractic” children showed only 31% ear infection rate, while 80% of the “medical” children had ear infections.

I’ve has the opportunity to watch a lot of kids sports events. With a family that’s as active as ours, it’s only natural that our kids gravitate towards sports. The thing that often goes unnoticed is how rarely our kids miss a practice or game due to injury. While some kids are always getting injured.

So here’s a bit of science to share on how you too can maximize your kids performance and minimize injury. This is from Dr. Kirk Eriksen’s research review on the preventative benefits of corrective chiropractic care. . . .

What is practical nutrition? (Blog #2)

June 7th, 2012

Why I was desperate for Practical Nutrition

Practical nutrition is a concept that I have been refining for the last 10 or 12 years. It first came into focus when I was doing research for my annual “nutrition talk” that I did “in house” for my chiropractic clients. Previous years I had just spouted the standard yarn about the “top 10 killers” or the “12 essentials” or some combination of the two.

Aaron’s Story — Things that aren’t supposed to heal:)

February 27th, 2012

Over the last few decades there has been an increasing tendency towards doctors prescribing custom foot orthotics. In fact, a big part of my first job in chiropractic (as a chiropractic assistant) was to do custom foot impressions for a very successful chiropractor who also prescribed orthotics.

Back then, the thought was that the feet influenced the spine and when an custom orthotic was prescribed it would help fix the spinal problem. That was 20 years ago.

Now I am seeing more and more, clients I work with getting out of their orthotics as I properly correct their spine. My understanding is changing.
